2014 Corvette Stingray Wins Three Top Honors in the Middle East
The 2014 Corvette Stingray is crowned the 2013 Sports Car of the Year and Muscle Car of the Year by top Middle East motoring publications
The all-new 2014 Corvette Stingray – the most powerful, most capable and most efficient standard Corvette ever – has won the prestigious 2013 Sports Car of the Year title from leading regional automotive magazines Sport Auto and Car Bazar, as well as Muscle Car of the Year from Car and Driver.
The all-new 2014 Corvette Stingray, which made its regional debut at the 2013 Dubai International Motor Show, is the most powerful standard model ever, powered by a new LT1 6.2L V8 engine – which produces more than 455 horsepower and 610 Nm of torque. Moreover, the vehicle is able to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in four seconds, and delivers up to an EPA-estimated 8.1 L/100km highway – making it the most fuel efficient sports car on the market.
“We are honored to have won the highly-coveted Sports Car of the Year and Muscle Car of the Year accolades. These awards recognize the beautiful design, performance excellence, technological advancements and innovation prowess of this fantastic vehicle,” said Maurice Williams, President and Managing Director of General Motors Middle East. “The 2014 Corvette Stingray perfectly fits those criteria further cementing the Stingray’s iconic reputation as one of the most hallowed names in automotive history. It truly epitomizes the future of modern performance vehicles – blending immaculate craftsmanship with pioneering features.”
The 2014 Corvette Stingray shares only two parts with the previous generation Corvette. It incorporates an all-new frame structure and chassis, a new powertrain and supporting technologies, as well as completely new exterior and interior designs.
The 2014 Corvette Stingray coupe goes on sale in the Middle East market early next year.
