he top-of-the-line 2015 Cadillac Escalade Platinum, which arrives at U.S. dealerships in the fourth quarter of 2014, starts at $90,270, including a $995 destination charge.
GM also increased the base price of the 2015 Cadillac Escalade to $73,965, including shipping.
The increase adds $1,275 to the Escalade’s starting price. The 2015 Escalade arrived in showrooms earlier this year. GM announced some upgrades to the Escalade on Monday, along with the higher base price and new Platinum model.
The Escalade was redesigned for the new model year. The upgrades are designed to make the Escalade more competitive in the luxury SUV segment. Key rivals include the Lexus LX 570, Lincoln Navigator and Mercedes-Benz GL-Class.
The 2015 Escalade Platinum is equipped with standard heated and cooled 18-way power front seats. They include a massaging function on the driver’s seat. A pair of 7-inch LCD screens are embedded in the front headrests. A cooled center console compartment adds to the luxury ambience, along with the generous use of premium materials.
Exterior touches include 22-inch wheels, chrome accents and a unique grille mesh design.
All Escalade models get 4G LTE connectivity with a WiFi hotspot, a Surround View camera system to boost visibility and a new eight-speed automatic transmission.
