Renegade 2015 Jeep Spotted

April 12, 2014

Jeep’s new entry-level model, the Renegade, is still far away from its 2015 North American arrival date and yet an example of the vehicle has been recently spotted in Michigan. We are talking about a pre-production model, as the Black Renegade seen here comes with plenty of unfinished details.

When the Renegade made its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show last month, the compact crossover’s soft approach was sees as inappropriate for the Jeep badge by some.

Well, it seems that the Renegade that was caught in the flesh made an ever poorer impression – the adjacent images showed up on the JeepRenegade Forum and here’s what member “minibouncer” had to say about the car:

“”At first I LOVED the renegade, but after seeing it in person, they REALLY need to trim up the side and front of the vehicle! There’s tons of unnecessary material in my opinion. The doors are HUGE and look like they are made of flimsy plastic. Is this a body kit??? Also, the roof did NOT have the removable top option. It was stick shift. Rear disc brakes. Vehicle sits lower than I thought it would. I guess I’ll have to wait and see the final touched up versions that hit the dealerships.”

Some of the things mentioned above are obviously going to change with the production version. Nonetheless, another forum member makes a pretty strong case for a Fiat story, saying that this could be a test mule for the upcoming Fiat 500X.

One way or another, the Jeep Renegade is definitely going to be a controversial model.
