Smart reveals ForTwo and ForFour

July 16, 2014

Smart has released a couple of teasers for the 2015 ForTwo and ForFour which will be revealed on July 16.

Smart has been relatively quiet in the past few months about their next-gen ForTwo and ForFour and now they are decided to make up the lost time with numerous teasers promoting their new city cars. Previous rumors were spot on as Smart has confirmed both models will be unveiled in Berlin, Germany on July 16 at 18:00 GMT.

Both cars will borrow 70 percent of their parts from the all-new Renault Twingo, including the 70 PS three-cylinder 1.0-liter naturally-aspirated and 90 PS three-cylinder 0.9-liter turbocharged engines. Also in the works is a 100 PS Brabus version together with an electric variant but the two will probably be launched next year or in 2016.

The ForTwo will keep the 2569mm overall length but will be 100mm wider at 1659mm while the ForFour is going to be shortened by 252mm to 3500mm. The duo will feature a rear-wheel drive layout and should be offered with a standard five-speed manual gearbox and an optional six-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Order books will allegedly open on July 31st while deliveries are slated to kick off in September.
